Can I show my home country number even though I live in another country now?
Yes, your calls can go out with any number you own and verify, wherever you're physically calling from; you need to be able to answer a short verification call on it. But calling home with a number from that same country is the hard case: many countries hide or block calls from abroad that show one of their own numbers (India blocks them). Can I call my family's country?
Calls run on Twilio's network to landlines and mobiles in many countries, including across South Asia, Africa and Latin America. Check the rate for your family's country on the rates page. Call quality also depends on your internet connection and the local network.
Do they need to install anything?
No. They receive a normal phone call on their phone — landline or mobile — exactly like any other call. The whole "browser" part is on your side.
How is this different from app-to-app calls?
