EzyRing vs Google Voice

How EzyRing compares with Google Voice for calling phones abroad.

Checked as of October 2026. Where Google Voice is the better choice, we say so.

Google Voice gives US users a free US phone number for calls and texts, and charges per minute for international calls. Personal accounts are set up in the US with a US phone number, so it's hard to get if you live elsewhere; business plans (Google Workspace) are offered in a limited list of countries. Calls show your Google Voice number, not your existing mobile number.

When Google Voice is the better choice

  • You live in the US: you get a free US number with incoming calls, texts and voicemail.
  • Calls to the US and Canada are free from a personal account.
  • You want one number for both making and receiving calls.

When EzyRing is the better choice

  • You live outside the US, where a new personal Google Voice account is hard to set up.
  • You want the person you call to see the number they already know (your own mobile), not a separate Google Voice number.
  • You only need to make calls abroad, paid by the minute, without a Workspace plan.

EzyRing vs Google Voice: FAQ

Can I use Google Voice outside the US?

Personal Google Voice accounts are set up in the US with a US phone number. Existing users can often keep using them abroad, but setting one up from outside the US is hard. Business plans through Google Workspace are offered in some other countries.

Does Google Voice show my own number?

Google Voice calls show your Google Voice number. EzyRing calls go out with your own verified number (for example your mobile), so the people you call can recognise it, where their carrier shows caller ID.

Is EzyRing cheaper than Google Voice for international calls?

It depends on the destination. Compare the per-minute rate on our rates page with Google's rate list for the country you call.
