EzyRing vs Skype
How EzyRing compares with Skype for calling phones abroad.
Checked as of October 2026. Where Skype is the better choice, we say so.
Microsoft retired Skype on 5 May 2025 and moved users to Microsoft Teams (free). Skype Credit and Skype calling subscriptions are no longer sold to new customers, and Teams Free isn't a way for new users to call phone numbers. People who used Skype Credit to ring landlines and mobiles abroad need a replacement.

Call phones abroad from your browser
With EzyRing your credit doesn't expire, the rate is shown before you dial, and there's no subscription.
When Skype is the better choice
- Microsoft Teams is still a good choice for free app-to-app video calls with people who also use Teams.
- If you still have a Skype Number or remaining paid minutes, check Microsoft's support pages for what you can use and for how long.
When EzyRing is the better choice
- You want to call landlines and mobiles abroad, the way you did with Skype Credit.
- You want calls to show your own verified number rather than an unknown one.
- You don't want to install anything: EzyRing runs in the browser.
